Countdown

It is TWO days til Blake and Katherine's wedding- TWO DAYS :)

I haven't seen Matthew in what seems like forever, but it's only been ONE week. I'm so thankful he will be moving back in NINE days. It makes school starting all the more bearable. Of course the fact that this is my last fall semester of school ever makes it a little more fun as well. Along with graduating in three years comes tons of questions about why you want to get done so quickly and such. It's not that I planned to finish early or anything, it just happened. Now the biggest questions of all are: "What's your plans after college?" "Do you have any job offers?" "Where are you going to live?" Ughhhh, What I want to do is get a job having nothing to do with my major (I want to be a photographer), noo- I don't have any job offers (I probably could by May), and I want to live in the best place on earth (Auburn). Is that risky? Maybe so. Is it scary? Completely, but I am so glad to have a God I can rely on in all circumstances. He is in control and I know He knows my future, and that is good enough for me.

Really?

I haven't straightened my hair since the day I left for China. That is well over a month. I'm about ready to go crazy. And everyday I wake up and check the weather to see if just maybe the humidity will drop just a few percents. NOPE.

So, I did not keep this up in China- imagine that! But, China was a completely amazing trip where I learned so much. Almost every plan we had coming into the trip was changed. If that doesn't teach you that God is in control of all things, I don't know what does. We made it through quarentines, temperature tests, and everything else the Chinese gov't threw at us. Working in a blind orphanage was such an experience. These kids are truely amazing, and I am so thankful that they are being taught the Word. Another huge blessing on the trip was being able to spend time with our translator, Mifan. She was such a blast and we just recently have been told that she got saved :) God is so good. Well we left China on a bad note with a 5 hour delay in Beijing Airport, the first three were understandable due to a major storm, but the last two included us just sitting on the plane waiting for the gov't to open up the air for us to leave. All of this gave me even greater thankfulness as we celebrated July 4th just a few weeks back.

Speaking of July 4th... I had quite an experience that day. I went to Lake Logan Martin with my friend Elizabeth McFarling, which was so great. On Friday Matthew came and we all had a great time. So on the fourth I slept in and then we (Me, Elizabeth, and Mr. McFarling) headed out on the jet ski's. We had a great time, we found a place to swim and it wasn't at all too crowded. Unfortunately we had the grand idea to find a rope swing. We found one and joined the others on it. Elizabeth went, and all seemed fine, but I was scared out of my mind. After a lot of convincing I went off and it was actually a lot of fun (I'm such a scaredie-cat!). So after this Elizabeth followed for us to head back to the condo, this time Elizabeth didn't quite make it far enough out and also went in like face first. She hit the bottom and came back up. Then all chaos begins. She was bleeding like crazy and her dad was for sure freaking out. Don't worry- she survived :) She just happend to have 6 staples in her head by the end of the day.

This past week Matthew got to come and spend almost the whole week with me in Auburn. What a blessing that was :) Not having him here, is practically driving me crazy. We had a lot of fun staying at Mammaws and just enjoying our time! July 24th (the next time I see him) can't come soon enough.

Mom and dad are coming this weekend, I haven't seen them since May 31st. With that being said I'm quite excited! Wow, I completely just spilled my whole life for the past month. I mean for these things to be short- enjoy.

How time flies...

It has been so long since I last updated this thing. I really wish I would have kept it up, it's so much fun to go back and look through. I came back to look now because Im considering doing a China blog while Im gone, but who knows if time will allow. More and more people I know are doing these things, not xanga... thats for sure, but blogs. I find them very amusing and entertaining.
So, I just recently have returned from Spain and also turned 20. Wow, not a teenager. That feels so weird to say.

The Spain trip was quite amazing, although it was the first time that I have ever been so ready to get home from a trip out of the country (and it was only a week long). A certain someone has something to do with that, and the fact that it wasn't a mission trip. Not being in contact with anyone there except our tourguide was the strangest thing. I felt like I missed out on knowing Spain, like through the people. So, that was the biggest shock to me. I discovered that maybe traveling just for fun, really isn't my forte'... I never thought that would come out of my mouth! Well, to say the least, Spain was simply beautiful and I took well over 1,000 pictures.

Me and Taylor enjoying the Huerta del Cura Palm, one of the gardens we visited.

Now I off I go to prepare for China. It's Monday now, and my plane leaves at 11:00 Friday. I ask for your prayers as we prepare to leave and also while we are working there.
